In a last-ditch effort to find work, modestly talented singer-songwriters Chuck Clarke and Lyle Rogers accept a booking in Marrakech from a down-and-out agent. So they are off to magical, mysterious Morocco, with a short layover in the political powder keg of Ishtar. But Ishtar turns out to be more than a layover when the two suddenly find themselves caught in a crossfire between a beautiful revolutionary and an overzealous CIA agent.
