In the first episode of the series "The New Housekeeper," Aunt Bee moves in to lend a hand and Andy appoints his over-zealous cousin Barney Fife to Deputy of Mayberry. The episode "Ellie Comes to Town" marks Andy's first love interest since becoming a widower when he meets new druggist Ellie Walker and Barney meets what will become his steady love interest Thelma Lou in "Cyrano Andy."
