E.F. Bloodworth abandoned his family forty years ago, dooming those he left behind. His wife has withered from sorrow and is now slipping into dementia. Fate has not spared any of his sons: Warren, is a womanizing alcoholic, Brady, exists at the edge of lunacy putting hexes on his enemies, and Boyd is consumed with jealous rage in his hunt for his wife and her new lover. With his time on earth fading, E.F. returns home to face the wreckage of his past.
