The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Tomas (Daniel Day-Lewis) is a doctor and a lady's man in Czechoslovakia during the late 1960s. Although he already has a sophisticated lover, Sabina (Lena Olin), he becomes smitten with a bookish country girl named Tereza (Juliette Binoche) and the two begin a relationship. However, the lovers triangle find themselves caught up in the political events of the "Prague Spring" of 1968, and as the Soviet tanks roll in to crush the non-violent rebellion, their lives are forever changed.
