What is DVDUPC?

It's a community driven database of DVD and Blu-ray UPCs, or - barcodes - as some might call them. But that's not all! Notice how I said community driven? DVDUPC was created to help keep track of what movies are available on Disc to Digital conversion services such as VUDU's Disc to Digital. There is also an automatically generated, scannable UPC for each title, perfect for when you lost, or misplaced the original case of a title that you want to convert, but can't because you don't have the UPC anymore because your dog decided she was hungry. How cool is that?

How to use it

  1. 1
Search using the main search box to instantly show movies that users have voted Disc to Digital Ready. Refine & Filter your query by using the refine and filtering options to fine tune your search to help find exactly what you are looking for.
  2. 2
Choose a title from the list of results.
  3. 3
Look for the SD tag for movies that have been voted as avaiable in SD quality and HDX tag for movies that have been voted as available in HDX quality.
  4. 4
Scan that UPC! Clicking a title from the search results will take you to that title's page. From there you can see information about that specific title, along with a scannable UPC barcode that can be scanned using the Disc to Digital app.
  5. 5
Vote! Each registered user has the ability to cast up votes and down votes on a title for both SD and HDX qualities. If you find a title that is Disc to Digital Ready in SD quality, simply click the up vote icon under SD to cast your vote. If you find a title that it isn't available, simply cast a down vote. The same goes for HD as well. Be a good citizen and remember to cast your votes! This is single handedly the most imortant aspect of the database. Movies that make the Disc to Digital Ready list are calculated by taking the sum of both up votes and down votes, so if a title has 3 up votes and 2 down votes, it's still on the list, yet if it receives one more down vote it will get knocked off the list. Any moderator vote will override all votes.
  6. 6
Disqus your findings! Each title has it's own comment section, so let your voice be heard. If the voting is inaccurate, this is the place to mention it so moderators can adjust as necessary!
  7. 7
(Optional) Buy any movie you might come across that tickles your fancy. Simply click the shopping cart icon to be magically wisked away to Amazon where you are able to purchase said title and have it added to your already awesome collection. This is the only form of revenue that this website receives and would help tremendously to pay for server costs and or beverages of choice.

Become a moderator

Does the idea of importing lots of data excite you? How about scanning tons of UPCs until your fingers bleed? If you're still reading this then why not become a moderator? Moderator votes override all user votes instantly and permanently, so if a Disc to Digital Ready title goes from active, to inactive for example, it will not require a ton of down votes to get it removed from the known Disc to Digital movies list. One moderator vote will instantly remove it and set it to not available. Think you have what it takes to be this awesome? Shoot me a message @ DVDUPC with your info and help build the ultimate list of Disc to Digital Ready titles on the interweb.
